Position Overview
Aspire Senior Living Joplin is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and clinically skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nursing team.
The Registered Nurse provides high-quality, person-centered nursing care while supporting the health, safety, dignity, and overall well-being of our residents. The RN assesses resident needs, administers medications and treatments, monitors changes in condition, coordinates care, and provides clinical leadership to nursing team members.
This position is ideal for an RN who enjoys building meaningful relationships with residents while using their clinical expertise to make a difference every day.
What You'll Do
Resident Assessment & Care Planning
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor residents' physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.
Identify changes in resident condition and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
Develop, implement, review, and update individualized resident care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Monitor vital signs, symptoms, behaviors, and other clinical indicators.
Promptly communicate significant changes in condition to physicians, providers, nursing leadership, and families as appropriate.
Promote resident-centered care based on individual needs, preferences, goals, and rights.
Medication & Treatment Management
Administer medications, treatments, and prescribed therapies according to provider orders and established nursing standards.
Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, adverse reactions, and potential complications.
Maintain accurate medication and treatment documentation.
Follow established medication-management and safety procedures.
Provide education to residents and families regarding medications, treatments, and care needs as appropriate.
Skilled Nursing & Clinical Care
Provide skilled nursing interventions according to resident needs and the RN's scope of practice.
Perform treatments that may include wound care, catheter care, enteral feeding support, respiratory care, and other clinical procedures as ordered and appropriate.
Monitor residents with acute and chronic health conditions.
Support pain and symptom management while promoting resident comfort and dignity.
Respond appropriately to changes in condition, emergencies, and other clinical situations.
Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers regarding resident treatment and clinical needs.
Clinical Leadership & Nursing Team Support
Provide clinical guidance and direction to LPNs, CNAs, CMTs, and other nursing team members as appropriate.
Delegate nursing responsibilities according to applicable regulations, resident needs, and team-member scope of practice.
Support nursing assistants and other caregivers in delivering safe, compassionate resident care.
Serve as a clinical resource for nursing team members.
Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and effective communication.
Assist with orientation, mentoring, and education of nursing employees as assigned.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with Nursing, Therapy, Social Services, Dietary, Activities, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate resident care.
Participate in care conferences, clinical meetings, and interdisciplinary planning.
Coordinate resident care during admissions, transfers, hospital returns, and other transitions.
Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs and changes as appropriate.
Advocate for resident preferences, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Documentation & Communication
Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Document assessments, medications, treatments, interventions, resident responses, and changes in condition.
Maintain clear communication during shift handoffs.
Ensure appropriate documentation and notification of incidents, changes, and clinical concerns.
Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Follow applicable federal and state regulations, professional nursing standards, and facility policies.
Support infection-prevention and resident-safety practices.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives as appropriate.
Assist with incident investigations, clinical reviews, and corrective actions when assigned.
Help maintain continuous survey readiness through accurate documentation and consistent nursing practices.
Identify and report potential resident-safety or clinical concerns promptly.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state Missouri.
1–2 years of nursing experience preferred, particularly in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, senior living, or geriatrics.
New graduate RNs may be considered based on community needs and applicable requirements.
Strong nursing assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
Knowledge of geriatric nursing, chronic disease management, medication administration, and resident care practices.
Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in resident condition.
Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Ability to provide clinical direction and support to nursing team members.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and effectively manage time in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
