Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or equivalent certification). 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice, outpatient, or ambulatory care setting preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within organizational guidelines. IV Therapy certification preferred, where permitted by state regulations. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical office procedures. Working knowledge of common medications and disease processes affecting the patient population served. Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, infection prevention, and CLIA regulations. Knowledge of medical coding principles preferred. Experience using electronic medical records (EMRs). Reliable personal transportation and willingness to travel within the assigned region approximately 85% of the time.
