Administer medications and treatments following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Operate Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner for accurate medical documentation. Support patients with specialized needs including Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and other forms of senior or disability care. Monitor patient conditions and report changes to supervising healthcare professionals promptly. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration, and other clinical tasks requiring anatomy and physiology knowledge. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the healthcare environment to prevent infections and ensure compliance with health regulations. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care. Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Qualifications: Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care settings is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is highly desirable. Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support for seniors or individuals with disabilities. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety standards. Certification or licensing as required by state or local regulations for Medical Technicians is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary. Ensure resident rooms are clean and tidy throughout each day and follows scheduled housekeeping tasks such as laundry as assigned. • Assist residents with activities of daily living, to include ambulation, transferring, showering, personal hygiene, incontinence care, feeding, reminders, and supervision according to the individual plan of care. • Gathering, engaging, and assisting residents in activities, conducting activities in groups or one-on-one with residents as requested. Encouraging residents to socialize and participate in planned activities and develop friendships with other residents. • Communicates professionally with physicians and third-party specialists, such as homecare providers, lab providers and hospice professionals. • Maintain the resident record daily following company policy and procedure. • Follow established safety protocols, including fire protection, infection control, blood borne pathogens, hazardous waste, and quality assurance procedures. Respond to all requests for assistance promptly and with a positive demeanor including emergency pull cords, telephone calls, and requests from family members or friends. • Report all complaints, grievances, suspicion of abuse and instances of abuse to the Wellness Director and/or the Executive Director. • Participate and attend Wellness meetings and required trainings to ensure compliance with all regulations and policies • Other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both residents and staff. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. • Able to make standard and routine decisions as allowed by state regulation based on training, knowledge gained through job required certification, detailed guidelines, and judgement. Problems are generally solved with clear, detailed guidelines or by reporting them to a supervisor. • Successful completion of a state approved medication administration course and other state required certifications to perform job duties as allowed by state regulations. Responsibilities: Care Giver: Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift; knows where their residents are and physically checks on them throughout the shift. Observes, reports and documents symptoms and conditions of residents for changes in condition such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary and participation in activities. Responds to security system and resident call bells promptly. Notifies supervisor and/or Health Care Coordinator if a resident has increased care needs. Assists with continence management and disposes of all continence products properly to ensure sanitation of resident suite and community restrooms. Serves and collects food trays and assists as needed; reports refusal of meals or loss of appetite. Maintains cleanliness of resident’s room and work areas. Practices good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene and health. Helps residents maintain independence, promotes dignity and physical safety of each resident. Actively participates/leads and assists residents with activities of daily living (i.e. bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating) as instructed. Engages residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities. Greets and assists all internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors and team members. Does resident laundry as assigned and needed. Medication Tech duties: Reviews service plan to learn pertinent information about residents. Assists/observes medications and treatments for each resident using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass. Documents and initials form as medications are given including appropriate documentation for refusal or missed doses. Maintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication. Reports all resident concerns made while assisting resident with the medication to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator (HCC). Restocks medication cart after all medication passes. Assists in checking medication regardless of packaging system. Counts all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift. Maintains and cleans the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness cleanliness, availability of medications and expired medications. Follows re-fill process for medications. Participates in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates. Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates. Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Qualifications: Certified Nurse’s Aid certification preferred. High School diploma/GED Must be 18 years of age. CPR Certification First Aid Certification Previous experience working with seniors preferred. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including assisted living, independent living, and memory care facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, documentation, and residents' interaction, with a focus on supporting individuals with diverse needs such as developmental disabilities, dementia, and chronic conditions. The Medical Technician will play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery while maintaining compliance with senior living healthcare regulations and privacy standards. Duties: Perform routine patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and documentation of medical histories. Assist with activities of daily living such as mobility support, hygiene, and feeding assistance, including tube feeding when necessary. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is highly desirable. Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support for seniors or individuals with disabilities. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety standards. Certification or licensing as required by state or local regulations for Medical Technicians is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary.
