Performing under the direction of the RN/LPN and as a member of the unit-based patient care team, the Certified Nursing Assistant/Unit Coordinator (CNA/UC) performs duties of direct and indirect patient care. The direct patient care tasks include but are not limited to activities of daily living, vital signs, glucometry, EKG’s, weights and Intake/Output data collection. Indirect patient care activities include, but are not limited to, transport, restocking and/or obtaining patient care supplies. In addition, the CNA /UC is responsible for responding in a timely manner to the needs of patients and family members and taking a proactive role in the efficient operation of the unit.
