Summary Baylor College of Medicine's Neurology Team is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant II to join our Parkinson's and Movement Disorder (PDCMDC) group. As a Medical Assistant II, you will perform patient care and administrative/support responsibilities in an ambulatory setting. This position will help support Injection procedures and authorization. We are looking for a team player who is eager to join a fast-paced group of providers. Job Duties Schedules patient tests, procedures, and appointments. Conducts patient outreach phone calls and post visit follow-ups. Manages in-basket messages. Manages and coordinates incoming patient referrals. Enters orders for patient tests and obtains proper paperwork. Maintains patient and service rooms in a neat and orderly condition. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant Training program through an accredited institution. Two years of relevant experience. Current certification as a Medical Assistant through an accredited professional organization (AAMA, AMT, ARMA, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, AMCA, AAH, AAMP, or NPS). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association. Preferred Qualifications Some knowledge or experience in a general neurology or Parkinson's. Qualifications Education and Training: Holds current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification required. BLS certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current IV Certification within 90 days of employment, if required per state regulations.
