Currently there are 19 ORs/procedure suites, performing an average of 50 cases/day for both Adult and Pediatric specialties including, cardiovascular, thoracic, neurosurgery, urology, orthopedic, ENT, Burns, OMFS, Plastics, Gynaecology and robotics. In July 2018, construction commenced on the new Emanuel West tower which includes brand new operating rooms, PACU, Central Sterile and other support areas. Responsibilities Provides patient care within an assigned department/unit Functions as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee Adheres to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse Performs all aspects of the nursing process: Assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care Follows established patient care standards set by Legacy Health System, including standards for patient assessment & patient transfer. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO. A variety of interventions including portable ventilators, multisystem trauma care, pain management and blood/blood products administration pre/post op care of adult neurosurgical patients including those requiring ventriculostomy management, may occur in this patient population. Maintains and monitors stock inventory in the treatment center and replenishes supplies in exam rooms on a timely basis. Monitors the integrity of equipment and promptly reports malfunction, missing or damaged equipment to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Office Manager. Maintains clean, well-equipped examination rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments. Stock examination rooms and triage area with medical supplies, ensuring all supplies are within expiration date. Participate in all staff meetings, education lectures and PCMH/QI improvement activities, and required training provided by EVMS and EVMS MG. How you make a difference The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working under the supervision of RN(s), the LPN provides direction and guidance in patient education and activities that align with their education and demonstrated competencies. Key Responsibilities Under RN supervision, assesses patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both the Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed. Implements treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administering medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and performing diagnostic tests according to established protocols and procedures.
