To be considered for the role, please apply at the following link: Position Details - Academic Personnel & Faculty The University of Washington Medical Center, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is looking for a full-time Teaching Associate/Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA-C) for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. UW Medicine is the premier academic medical center in Washington state, encompasses 4 hospitals in the Seattle metro area and is the primary referral hospital for the five-state WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) region. The department supports a residency program, four fellowship programs, including Gynecologic Oncology, and is a major teaching site for UW medical students. This is a full-time, 12 month (July 1 - June 30) academic position on a yearly appointment with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position will be: $10,417 - $13,750 per month ($125,004 - $165,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Position Responsibilities An ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management to Gynecology Oncology patients at the University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake. The ARNP/PA-C would follow patients during their chemotherapy and radiation, providing medical supportive care, postoperative care, as well as surveillance after completion of treatment. The ARNP/PA-C would work collaboratively with the treatment team to coordinate care of their patients. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician. Distinguishing Characteristics The ARNP/PA-C functions within their scope of practice and collaborates effectively with other disciplines to provide state-of-the-art patient and family-centered care. Excellent communication and clinical skills necessary to ensure optimum patient care outcomes in a complex care environment. Skilled clinicians, providing evidence-based diagnosis and management of the acute, symptomatic, and palliative care needs of patients with cancer. Ability to effectively communicate information about disease processes, treatments, and management of treatment toxicities to patients and family caregivers. Scope of Work Independently performs complex and problem-focused H & P’s Understands the biology and natural history of common cancers. Provides patient education about the natural history and available treatment Evaluates and manages patients on cancer treatment Provides patient care for treatment-related side effects, as well as long-term surveillance and survivorship issues. Performs procedures according to licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice Collaborates and consults with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and timely treatment as well as continuity of care. Participates in the conduct of cancer clinical research Communicates changes in patient’s health status to the patient’s primary oncologist Participates in patient rounds, conferences and committees Actively participates in the development and maintenance of patient management algorithms and standing orders. Documents patient care data in Epic in accordance with the UWP policies Evaluates the physical and psychological state of the cancer patient. Provides support to patients by participating in patient and/or family teaching, counseling and rehabilitation as well as referring patients to community agencies to promote optimal adjustment and functioning.
