POSITION SUMMARY: To perform intermittent direct or indirect hands-on patient care to meet the patient's needs in accordance with the plan of care and assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. Provide assistance to residents to keep clothes in proper order. Assist residents with making beds as needed. Make beds when residents not able to do so. Provide residents when a clean towel and washcloth as needed. Provide assistance with using, emptying, and cleaning resident equipment (urinals, bedside commodes, bed pans, wash basins, showers, chairs, etc.) as needed. Assure residents receive their meals and snacks and assist them at mealtime as needed. Help orient new residents admitted to the program. Notify Administrator when there is a need for medical attention of any resident or any other change in resident status. Report any accident or incident to Administrator or Supervisor. Help maintain the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident. Work cooperatively with all other staff and relate favorably to residents, their families, and visitors. Be familiar with confidentiality of resident information and adhere to requirements. Be familiar with and be able to apply all of the Assisted living home's accident, fire safety, OSHA, and emergency procedures. Be familiar with the Assisted Living Residents' Bill of Rights and assist residents in exercising their rights. Assure careful treatment of adult care home equipment and utilization of supplies.
