The Registered Nurse RN consults as needed with the physician and the office giving details about patient care. Performing accurate OASIS collection, ensuring the medication profile remains current, ensuring lab values have been reported to the physician timely, attending weekly case conference and monthly case manager meetings are key responsibilities of this role. This part-time salaried position works 24 hours/week, over 4 days in the week, and is eligible for our 60% paid days off program. Recognizes and reports variances and provides resolutions. Documents all incidents in timely and accurate manner on appropriate forms per facility guidelines. Builds trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings. Develops, trains, and educates staff on policies, procedures, best practices, and strategic goals. Recognizes and responds to variances of patient care/ condition and appropriately notifies physician and team. In a collaborative manner, problem solves issues with physician and/or team. Documents appropriate complaints/PI issues and provides timely follow-up, as appropriate. Performs supervisory visits with assigned staff and provides assistance in planning nursing care, problem solving, interpreting nursing policies and patient assignments. Closely supervises personnel and renders direct nursing care as appropriate. Adjusts and monitors staffing levels as needed to provide adequate nursing care as directed by the census and/or patient’s individual needs. Manages overtime and works within staffing allocations budget. Assesses staffing/patient care needs and makes good decisions when adjusting as documented on staffing sheets.
