The Charge Nurse will assume responsibility and accountability for the quality of nursing activities and staff functions during their shift. The Charge Nurse provides direct and indirect care in the Intensive Care setting. Under general direction of the Nursing Department Leadership, will serve as a resource person, organizes, plans, directs with focus of providing high quality individualized patient care. The Charge Nurse will monitor compliance with formulated a plan of care to meet the identified needs of patient/family/significant others using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy provided by the staff Registered Nurse, assess care and direct staff for immediate response to changes in condition or response to treatment.
