The class runs approximately 4-6 weeks. At the conclusion of the class you will be required to take the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide exam (NNAAP®) within 120 days in order to be considered for continued employment. The Certified Nurse Aide provides the activities of daily living care to the residents under licensed staff supervision Essential Functions: Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout an eight (8) hour shift. Organizational skills and ability to do sequential events. Listed on the state registry as a Nursing Assistant within 120 days of employment. Motivation and desire to work with geriatric persons. Ability to speak English at a level the residents can understand. Ability to read and write in English to carry out functions related to the care plans and provides appropriate resident care. Physical Requirements: Must be able to constantly work on their feet during an 8 hour shift; bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout the shift in performing regular duties. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of resident weight and/or transfer and reposition a resident at least 25 times throughout the shift. Must be able to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and in response to the unexpected behavior of residents either during lifting or repositioning or during other frequent occasions when having direct contact with residents. Must be able to handle the physical transfer of residents from unsafe to safer locations in the event of a fire or other disaster. Ability to do sequential events/tasks.

Responsible for stocking supplies and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have medical supplies needed. Responsible for completing order sheets to maintain supply inventory levels; regularly check expiration dates on supplies. Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files. Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence Ensure reception is well maintained Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up. Perform opening and closing duties, which includes cashing out, end-of-day communication, and securing the building. Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting client assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing care to our clients. What tasks are required? Perform initial and on-going assessment of client’s medical, physical, and psychosocial status. Prescribe and monitor medication as necessary for clients in recovery. Obtain and evaluate health and medical history; perform a physical exam, conduct preventive screening procedures based on age and history; Identify medical and health risk. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care to clients. Complete accurate and timely documentation of observations, interventions, plan of care, referrals, follow-up, and progress in electronic health records.
