Job Overview Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU - Cardiovascular Department at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. We care for patients who have had coronary artery bypass, valve replacement and transcatheter aortic valve replacement, aortic arch repair and heart and lung transplant. The CVICU also handles patients with decompensated heart failure, adult congenital heart defects, cardiogenic shock, advanced pulmonary hypertension and cardiac arrest. We apply extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), ventricular assist devices (VAD), intraortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Swan-Ganz catheters routinely. Our complex patient population requires hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, management of organ failure, maintenance of systemic perfusion and high technical skills. This unit has a low nurse to patient ratio and resource nurses on unit. Schedule: This position will be working 0.60 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift. This position will also work every third weekend. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). Job Overview Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Perianesthesia team at our Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN! Our Perianesthesia nursing staff provides quality and compassionate care for patients before and after same-day surgery/procedure as well as surgeries that occur before and during admission to the hospital. We provide emotional & educational support with preoperative phone calls, during their stay with us and post-operative follow-up phone calls. Our team of nurses and techs/nursing assistants work closely with multiple disciplines to provide a patient and family centered experience. With our strategic location just south of the Minnesota River, Ridges Hospital promotes the health of our surrounding communities and continues to experience growth! About Fairview Ridges: At Ridges Hospital we perform approximately 8,000 surgical cases per year in our 12 OR rooms using the latest in technology. Perianesthesia supports 12 PACU bays and 18 Pre/post op Bays. OR specialty areas including: Spine, Ortho, OB-GYN, General, ENT, and Urology. Proactive pre-admitting department that prepares Pediatrics-Adult patients in advance of their visit and collaborates closely with Anesthesia. Child Life is available on site to work with pediatric patient. Procedures range from out-patient to surgical admissions, and include pediatric to geriatric patient population Schedule: This Perianesthesia nursing position will be working 56 hours every two weeks on the rotating day/evenings, 8 hour shifts(start times are staggered between 5:30am and the last 8 hour shift start time is 2:00 pm). What You’ll Do RN Float is responsible for managing the care of patients experiencing psychiatric/mental health disorders in the adult and youth Partial Hospital Programs, inpatient, and the clinics. Coverage at residential is an option for the RN Float but is not required. The RN Float is responsible to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise nursing care of patients within the area of assignment pursuant to the policies and procedures of PrairieCare. Requires knowledge of nursing practices, which can be gained only through an accredited school of nursing. Oriented and educated in gender, cultural, and age-appropriate care for the assigned unit. Responsibilities Maintains current assessment and documentation of resident health status: Performs initial and on-going assessments per the applicable Minnesota Assisted Living regulations and Nurse Practice Act. Ensures assessments are completed every 90 days per regulatory requirements. Works with resident and/or responsible party through collaboration, education, and timely communication to ensure appropriate service and placement. Service Agreements: assure that resident has an up to date service agreement at time of admission, with any changes in services and annually. Develops, maintains, and implements individual emergency plans based on health status and Advance Care Planning documents, including POLST.
