There are typically 300 deliveries per month. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 - 8, and a CNA in the nursery. Mom/baby nurses also act as “admit” RNs for all infants transferred to the Mom & Baby unit. Nurses take care of many babies whose status does not require NICU care, but who are not yet ready to go home. Mom/Baby nurses may periodically care for a number of GYN patients.
