The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an RN license and at least twelve months of recent RN experience in medical/surgical or an acute care setting. The candidate must be available to work either the Day/Evening shift (7am - 7pm), or the Evening/Night shift (7pm - 7am) with rotating weekends and holidays required. The Surgical Urology/Orthopedic unit is a 32-bed unit for an adult patient population. This fast-paced environment has rapid turnover for surgical procedures, which include postoperative prostatectomy, cystectomy, penectomy, nephrectomy, and orthopedic surgeries. Unique postoperative care of hemipelvectomy, flap monitoring, and testicular cancer surgeries are also managed on this unit. The team uses an interdisciplinary collaborative approach to patient care. Integrated in our nursing practice are tools used to maximize the skills of team members to achieve optimal outcome and improved healthcare quality. DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our multidisciplinary hepatology and liver transplant team. This faculty position offers the opportunity to practice in a nationally recognized transplant program providing comprehensive care to patients with chronic liver disease and undergoing liver transplantation. The APP will primarily provide outpatient hepatology care while collaborating closely with hepatologists, transplant surgeons, and other members of the hepatology and liver transplant teams. Job Purpose Successful candidates will be passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centered care, working in a collaborative academic environment, and contributing to the education of future healthcare professionals.
