Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: Focuses primarily on RN-to-RN screenings, (i.e. reviewing H&P, labs, and other clinical documentations) for all admissions and ensures patients are medically appropriate for admission. Responds to inquiry calls regarding services. Oversees the admission process including the appropriateness of the admission, completion RN to RN screenings, orders for the admissions, and any additional required paperwork. Assists in assigning unit/program based on patient needs. Knowledgeable and able to explain Hospital programs and services. Provides accurate and complete information to physicians regarding RN-to-RN screening. Communicates with physicians and providers to receive admission orders and medical clearance as needed. Assures compliance with all applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations that pertain to psychiatric admissions. Maintains data/records regarding the admission process for medical screenings. Completes medical screening evaluations and triaging on all patients who present for an assessment in accordance with EMTALA laws. Provides first aid and medical care as needed. Coordinate transfer of those patients requiring a higher level of medical care and/or medical clearance. Has a strong understanding of the department computer systems. Conducts the initial assessment which includes prior treatment history, previous medications, health screen, family dynamics and risk factors. FLEX/PRN position - no benefts.
