Job Details Cleveland Clinic is seeking compassionate, hard-working Advanced Practice Providers to join its new 12-month Primary Care Institute Fellowship. Designed for new graduates and experienced APPs transitioning from specialty areas, the program provides structured clinical training, mentorship, and professional development in a collaborative primary care setting. Upon successful completion of the fellowship, it is our goal to place trainees into permanent primary care provider positions; however, placement is not guaranteed. Selected participants will be exposed to advanced didactic, clinical specialty training, and procedural training. Additionally, participants will have dedicated fellowship preceptors and mentors, and fellowship-specific protected clinical time and gradual ramp up schedule. This is a full-time benefit eligible position. Those selected for these positions will be assigned to a Primary Care Institute location within northeast Ohio. Those eligible for this program include: Novice Advanced Practice Registered Nurses or Physician Assistants. Novice APPs are those with 0 to 12 months of experience working as an APP. Experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurses or Physician Assistants with a desire to change from specialty to a primary care provider role. We care for babies who need full-body cooling, respiratory support (CPAP, conventional ventilators, jet ventilator, oscillator), and IV nutrition support as well as attend high risk deliveries and lead neonatal resuscitations. We have a full staff of neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners who are on-site 24/7. Along with our provider team, we have a full team of therapists - physical, occupational, and speech – a dedicated dietician, and a dedicated respiratory therapy team, who are here Monday through Friday. We also have a NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist who provides monthly simulations, hip-to-hip education, and just-in-time education. She has also taken on ensuring our policies and procedures are up to date and in alignment with the enterprise and the latest evidence-based practices. Our staffing core is 5 nurses, though we have a robust per diem team as well as status nurses willing to pick up to help the team. Our assignments are generally 1 :3 ( i.e. feeder/growers) or 1:2 ( i.e. CPAP, stable vent, central lines) with the occasional 1:1 for those extremely high acuity babies ( i.e. cooling, unstable jet or oscillator, nitric). As a Nurse Manager, you will manage the delivery of care within the Neonatal ICU (NICU) at Akron General Medical Center . In this role, you will manage the practice of professional nursing and delivery of nurse care while offering clinical supervision, maintaining quality outcomes and supervising all aspects of personnel management and development. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience. Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross within new hire period *Nursing students must obtain prior to hire Competencies in both the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains must be demonstrated in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at minimum junior high level Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
