Position Summary: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides compassionate, patient-centered care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), physician, or other licensed healthcare provider. RN Position Purpose: This position will serve in the role of RN Night Supervisor and is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients. Makes staff assignments as directed when serving in a Charge Nurse Role. Gives guidance and direction to personnel - LPNs, CNAs and non-licensed personnel, provides direct patient care, assists in new staff orientation and collaborates with interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs. Assist in coordinating the operation of a shift on the nursing unit. This should be performed under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in accordance with the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act. Previous supervisory/management experience preferred. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and to be able to lift, push, bend and carry loads of up to 50 pounds; must be able to lift and move patients. JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for all duties in relation to safely administering medications and treatments to the residents. This position requires legible, accurate documentation on the medication record and in the resident chart. It also requires a responsible demeanor in order for the resident population to have confidence in your ability to administer medications and treatments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Administers the medications and treatments, according to the scheduled times, following the medication administration protocol. Understands and implements an interim service plan, in the absence of Charge Nurse, Unit Manager/Director Health Services ,as care needs arise. Assures caregivers on shift are aware of changes on interim service plans. Notifies Charge Nurse,Unit Manager/Director Health Services of resident changes of condition. Assists with monthly medication records as needed. Assists with cycle fill or re-ordering of medications. Understands and returns medications for credit as needed. Monitors medications that arrive from the pharmacy. Timely notifies the pharmacy of any discrepancies Maintains the supplies, cleanliness, organization and re-stocking of the medication room and medication cart. Orders supplies as directed by the Charge Nurse. Has knowledge of, and can demonstrate proper technique, or can learn how to assist with: a gait belt, sit to stand lift, transfer board, catheter, specimen, transfer pole, trapeze, wheel chair, scale, and other equipment as directed by the Charge Nurse or Unit Manager. Capable of taking accurate vital signs and weights. Accurately begins a medication error report if necessary. Fills in as a Certified Nursing Assistant when needed. Capable of assisting in care needs of residents, which might include lifting requirements up to 40 pounds. Serves meals as needed and assists with setting tables and post meal clean-up as assigned. Faxes pharmacy to order medications. Calls pharmacy to follow up on medications that have not arrived. Answers call lights or finds a partner to answer a call light, if in the middle of a med pass. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Assists residents with transportation and appointments as needed. Read the 24 hour communication book and respond as necessary to issues. Review all incident reports and residents on alert status Read any new interim care plans that could have been initiated. Job Description: Surgical Tech Student This position is responsible for performing surgical tech/central sterile tech tasks and related tech service duties under the direction of the OR Manager and/or Circulating Nurse. Duties include, but are not limited to: preparing OR rooms with instruments, sutures and other supplies and equipment, performs as a scrub tech according to procedure standards, assists in needle, sponge and instrument counts with RN. Assist with other duties as outlined by the OR Manager and/or Circulating Nurse. Duties/Responsibilities: Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery Preparing the patient for surgery Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation Taking a count of all surgical instruments and supplies prior to the operation Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery
