Job Summary The registered nurse renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients. The registered nurse provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Clinical care in the Cardiac Rehabilitation program requires management of patients in the recovery phase from cardiac events or diseases which include MI, PCI, CABG, valve surgery, heart failure, heart transplant, angina, and other complex varieties of heart disease. The program consists of monitored exercise, strength, yoga, meditation, and educational presentations on lifestyle modification. Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry and vital signs during exercise, group patient education, completing individualized treatment plans, physical assessment, and evaluations of patients. Must be comfortable interpreting telemetry rhythms, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and responding quickly to adverse events. Must be flexible to meet the needs of the department.
