Responsibilities Patient Assessment & Monitoring Perform comprehensive neurological assessments for acute and chronic neuro patients. Monitor for changes in neurological status, hemodynamics, seizure activity, and indicators of post-surgical complications or stroke progression. Recognize and respond promptly to early signs of neurological decline, seizure escalation, or treatment-related complications. Neuroscience & Epilepsy-Specific Care Provide care for patients undergoing neurosurgery, stroke interventions, and advanced epilepsy diagnostics including continuous EEG monitoring. Administer specialized neurological therapies and complex medication regimens, including antiepileptic, thrombolytic, and neuroprotective treatments. Support coordination of imaging, EEG, surgical procedures, and interventions critical to stroke, neurology, and epilepsy care pathways. Critical Interventions Respond to neurological emergencies including seizures, status epilepticus, stroke alerts, and post-operative complications. Operate specialized equipment such as continuous EEG systems, infusion pumps, and telemetry monitors. Collaboration & Communication Provide extensive teaching to patients and families on seizure safety, stroke recovery, post-surgical care, and long-term disease management. Participate actively in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to individualized neuro care plans Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and adhere to hospital protocols, infection control, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have: Graduate of an approved school of licensed practical/vocational nursing. Current license, in good standing, as an LPN/LVN in the State. One year nursing experience.
