Job Overview Ridges Hospital is looking for a passionate and hardworking Nursing Assistant to join our Float Pool unit! Located in Burnsville, just 20 minutes south of Minneapolis, MN, near the 35 E and 35 W conjunctions. Schedule: This position is a .8 FTE (64 hours per 2-week pay period) working 8-hour night shifts, with every other weekend rotation (Fri,Sat,Sun). Responsibilities: The Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. The Nursing Assistant does not work autonomously but works under the direction of a professional nurse. The Nursing Assistant may be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager/charge nurse. Provides basic patient care by performing routine duties to include: Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making. Personal grooming, bathing, toileting, Feeding, Skin care needs (clean and sterile dressing changes), applying ointments/creams, Oral hygiene, Specimen collection/testing, Position/ambulating, Changing linens, Promptly answers call lights. Assists nurse in monitoring patient condition. Accurately takes and records weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, oxygen saturation. Places patient on/off monitors or equipment. Reports unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner. Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients. Orients patient/family to environment. Assures the patient’s belongings are accounted for, documented upon admission, transfer and discharge. Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program. AND at least one of the following: Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program. Or Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. Job Overview Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse on our Critical Care Float Pool at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. As a Critical Care Float Pool RN, you will float to the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. In a less frequent capacity you may float to Cardiac Telemetry, Surgical, Orthopedic, Medical, Observation, and Oncology. You may have additional opportunity to cross train in more areas if needs dictate. Job Overview Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU - Cardiovascular Department at our East Bank University Hospital location in Minneapolis, MN. We care for patients who have had coronary artery bypass, valve replacement and transcatheter aortic valve replacement, aortic arch repair and heart and lung transplant. The CVICU also handles patients with decompensated heart failure, adult congenital heart defects, cardiogenic shock, advanced pulmonary hypertension and cardiac arrest. We apply extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), ventricular assist devices (VAD), intraortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Swan-Ganz catheters routinely. Our complex patient population requires hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, management of organ failure, maintenance of systemic perfusion and high technical skills. This unit has a low nurse to patient ratio and resource nurses on unit. Schedule: This position will be working 0.60 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift. This position will also work every third weekend. Practice Details: Provide inpatient care for critically ill patients in a hybrid role between an intensive care unit and as a critical response provider. While working on the MHealth Fairview Critical Care system APP team you will get a variety of experiences.
