Seneca View Nursing Facility is looking for a Unit Manager. The candidate must perform the primary functions of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of all patients, regardless of age in their unit on a 24 hour basis. Clinical administrative responsibility for the Nursing Unit on a 24-hour basis. Directs, teaches and supervises staff members in providing quality resident care. Responsible for ensuring continuity of patient care with other shifts. Responsible for meeting regulatory agency standards of care for their unit. Manages all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment in their unit. Promotes teamwork with staff, physicians and personnel of other department. Roles and Responsibilities: Directing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of all nursing staff engaged in designated unit Authority, responsibility, and accountability for the overall management of residents on a designated unit Responsible for transmitting each unit's staff concerns to the appropriate department supervisor. Position Overview: Reporting to Administrator and Director of Nursing (DON) the Admissions Coordinator will screen prospective residents and coordinate their admission to the nursing facility in collaboration with nursing facility interdisciplinary team. As part of the Admissions process, the Admissions Coordinator will also collect and distribute information to appropriate staff of all new residents. The Admissions Coordinator also represents Schuyler Hospital and Seneca View Nursing accurately and honestly; acts with integrity and in the best interest of Schuyler Hospital and Seneca View Nursing. The Admissions Coordinator will adhere to facility policy and regulations. What you'll do: Screens, interviews, and evaluates all prospective residents and their representatives to determine suitability and eligibility of placement including financial arraignments. Obtains and completes all necessary admission and readmission paperwork including admissions agreements, business agreements, insurance authorizations, PRI's, and screens along with all other required admission paperwork prior to placement. Provides information to applications, their families and the referring providers related to admission to the facility. Maintains data base tracking of all referrals and outcomes. Coordinates open and timely admission/referral communication of needs with nursing leadership daily. Seeks nursing and provider approval for admission referrals where needed through the DON and or Administrator. Schedules and provides tours of facility where needed. Maintains a long term care bed waiting list Completes resident new admission and discharge satisfactions, reporting results to facility QAPI Committee and appropriate feedback to department heads/leaders. Maintains open collaboration with referral sources and providers to ensure referrals and feedback is maintained. Minimum Qualifications: Graduated from a Licensed Practical Nurse, Social Work, or Registered nurse program (and) Must have active NYS licensure (or) Other healthcare related degree (or) 2 years of long term care experience, 1 year admission experience or 1 year healthcare insurance experience Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job. Director of Nursing (DON) Full-time $120,000-$145,000 medical dental vision 401k Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our skilled nursing facility (SNF) As a key member of our leadership team, the DON will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained, and driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, including staff scheduling, supervision, and clinical care coordination. • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure quality resident care and regulatory compliance. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS, OSHA, and state health department requirements. • Monitor resident care for quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI); participate in audits, surveys, and inspections. • Manage staffing levels to meet resident needs while maintaining budgeted hours and controlling overtime. • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate nursing staff, including RN, LPN/LVN, and CNA team members. • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback to nursing staff. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, physicians, residents, and families to coordinate care plans and resolve concerns. • Oversee infection control and medication administration programs. • Respond to emergency situations and ensure proper incident reporting and follow-up. • Serve as the primary clinical liaison during inspections or surveys and ensure timely correction of deficiencies. • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by facility policy and regulatory bodies. Qualifications: • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN or higher preferred. • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, in good standing. • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility. • Certifications: CPR/BLS certification required; additional certifications (e.g., DON certification, Infection Control) a plus. Skills & Competencies: • Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations (e.g., CMS guidelines). • Proven leadership and team-building skills. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
