The University of Iowa Health Care department of Radiology is seeking a Staff Nurse to assess patients' nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care provided, and integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice. Provide leadership to members of the nursing team to maintain patient care standards. Duties Include Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness. Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations. Acts as resource for the other modalities within Radiology as needed. Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response/education. Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan. Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care. Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Staff Nurse - Integrated Call Center (90%)

The Integrated Call Center is seeking a Staff Nurse at 90% time. The Staff Nurse provides support via telephone and electronic communication forums to UI Healthcare patients, referring entities and business partners. Nurses within the Integrated Call Center utilize the nursing process to provide education and care for individual patients or defined patient populations via the telephone. Telehealth nursing practice involves providing guidance to clients who call regarding health problems or symptoms which concern them. The advice, given by the triage nurse, may include coming into the hospital or a clinic, remaining at home and observing the symptoms, or following a treatment regimen. Integrated Call Center nurses utilize their clinical judgment skills in conjunction with established protocols (via a computerized decision support systems) to enable, educate, and encourage people to improve their health and make appropriate use of medical care. Hours: Day/Evening/Night rotating with weekend and holiday rotation. This position is eligible to participate in hybrid work. Medical Assistant II - Eye Clinic (50% - 100%)

University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking an 50% - 100 % Medical Assistant II to work in the Eye Clinic. Summary Under direct supervision of LIP (licensed independent practitioner), RN (registered nurse), NM/ANM (nurse manager/assistant nurse manager) or other licensed designee, functions as a member of the patient care team. Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in the urgent care setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit. Duties To Include Staff will support our ophthalmology patients. Responsible for facilitating the smooth flow of patients through the clinic through interaction with patients, families, and staff. Assist in clinic with physical examination of patient and related treatments, including but not limited to patient history, medication records, allergies, and immunizations. Manages internal and external medical records to ensure that accurate and complete data is available for patient appointments. Administers routine oral, rectal, or injectable medications not requiring a high level of skill or nursing judgment. These are medications that can only be administered by certified medical assistants or medical assistants who have completed a formal accredited training program. Performs routine laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood work, does electrocardiograms and x-ray work as needed. Identifies vaccination needs for specific patient populations. Performs related clerical tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and providing information to other departments. Assists in obtaining insurance prior authorizations.
