Working 12 hours in a two week period, 12 hour shifts. Our rehab department consists of over 150 physical therapists, occupational therapists , and speech-language pathologists, who work collaboratively with a pediatric physiatrist and physiatry nurse practitioner. Rehabilitation Services are provided at both our Minneapolis and St Paul Hospitals as well as six outpatient therapy clinics. Children’s Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine program brings together outpatient support for children with complex needs and dedicated inpatient consultative care to support the acute needs of hospitalized patients. Ambulatory clinics at Children’s MN include primary care clinics that are the longest running Health Care Home in Minnesota for children with complex chronic health care needs; spina bifida clinic; NICU follow up clinics; and post-fetal (in utero) clinical care. Job Overview Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU - Cardiovascular Department at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. We care for patients who have had coronary artery bypass, valve replacement and transcatheter aortic valve replacement, aortic arch repair and heart and lung transplant. The CVICU also handles patients with decompensated heart failure, adult congenital heart defects, cardiogenic shock, advanced pulmonary hypertension and cardiac arrest. We apply extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), ventricular assist devices (VAD), intraortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Swan-Ganz catheters routinely. Our complex patient population requires hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, management of organ failure, maintenance of systemic perfusion and high technical skills. This unit has a low nurse to patient ratio and resource nurses on unit. Schedule: This position will be working 0.60 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift. This position will also work every third weekend.
