SUMMARY The Department of Orthopedics at Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our growing, collaborative orthopedic team at our Batavia Medical Campus. RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Care Perform a complete history and problem-focused examination; establishing a working diagnosis of non-operative and operative orthopedic conditions Interpret x-rays and other diagnostic studies. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures Develop treatment plans to provide optimal patient medical management; orders consultations and interacts with members of other specialty medical teams. First assist orthopedic surgical cases enhancing the efficiency, continuity, and quality of surgical care in the operating room. Provide high quality, patient-focused perioperative care for orthopedic surgery patients in conjunction with our multidisciplinary team. Provide bedside treatments such as joint injections. Respond to and manage acute care needs of hospitalized orthopedic patients. Patient Satisfaction. Coordinates and communicates all aspects of patient care to patient, family, and health care team. Educates and encourages patients to become active participants in their own healthcare-related behavior and provides patient education materials related to diagnosis, treatment plans, and need for follow-up care, for use in encouraging wellness. Medication & Orders. Prescribe medication, write orders, perform procedures and respond to emergency and/or acute condition changes. Documentation. Thoroughly and concisely documents in the patient's medical record all patient contact encounters, progress notes, orders, prescriptions, test results, and patient instructions according to standard medical practice guidelines and to support appropriate billing practices. Quality and Education. Actively contributes to quality reporting metrics and participates in Grand Rounds, APP Council Meetings, unit meetings and M&M presentations. Demonstrates professional practice behavior including preceptor/mentoring, education and instruction of students, nursing staff, nurses, graduate and novice physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Duties Description Buffalo Psychiatric Center is recruiting an Assistant Director Nursing 1 Psychiatric to function as the Assistant Director of the nursing department. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. As an Assistant Director Nursing 1 Psychiatric, you will assist in the management, oversight, and evaluation of nursing and direct care services including: Developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures Overseeing, evaluating, and participating in recruitment, training, and continuing education programs for nursing and direct care staff Supervising Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric and other nursing and direct care staff Ensuring compliance with established standards of nursing care in accordance with State, federal, and accreditation agency requirements Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside and within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as an Assistant Director Nursing 1 Psychiatric if they have: License and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and 3 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with individual diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, substance use disorder, or developmental disabilities, or individuals in a medical-surgical or long-term care setting. 1 year of the experience must have been at a supervisory level. Substitution: A master’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a doctorate in nursing may substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
