Job Details: The Johns Hopkins Hospital- Bloomberg 9 South, Pediatric Care is a 20-bed intermediate care unit that cares for medical/surgical patients between 0-21 years of age. The unit specializes in the care of NICU step-down patients and patients undergoing urological surgery. Other specialty services include GI, Pulmonary, Renal, and general pediatric services; and a variety of surgical services, such as Neurosurgery, ENT, Plastic, and General Pediatric Surgery. Patients are cared for by an interdisciplinary team that consists of nurses, physicians, social workers, case managers, child life specialists, and other dedicated ancillary staff. Job Requirements This is a Spine & Neurovascular Acute Floor focusing on many neurological disorders under four services: Neurosurgery, Ortho Spine Surgery, General Neurology, and Stroke Neurology. Some of these diagnoses may be ischemic stroke, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders, cervical fusions, lumber fusions, etc. Staffing mix on this floor include the Registered Nurse, Patient Care Technician, and Charge RN all working 12 hours shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a). Nursing team works collaboratively with other services to safely get patients to a safe disposition of home or rehab. Patients on this floor range from being medically ready to be discharged or acutely ill and requiring a longer hospital stay. The Triage RN reports to Associate Clinical Director.
