Complete the Infection Risk scale upon admission, quarterly and when changes in condition occurs Conduct resident screening for TB during admission and annually using a 2-step tuberculin skin test, and Chest X-ray when skin test is positive Directs the implementation of the Immunization program for Flu and Pneumonia, ensure the completion of the informed consent and maintain a current log for immunization Perform surveillance of residents (and staff, when indicated) reported to have infections by collecting and analyzing and interpreting data documented Summarize data for a monthly and quarterly report Maintain infection control log for each infection occurring in the facility monthly Maintain tracking log for MDRO infections in the facility Collect and review types of antibiotics used in the facility, and cost of the treatment Review orders for antibiotic treatment if cultures were done prior to treatment and which physician started the therapy Review also antibiotic orders for length of therapy and any changes in the antibiotic during the course of treatment Attend quarterly QA meetings and participate as a member of the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee. Job Description Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Minimum of two (2) years experience in an outpatient setting and/or emergency room as a registered nurse. Or combined experience in both settings. Minimum of one (1) year recent experience as a registered nurse in an ambulatory practice or ER within the past 3 years. Minimum of one (1) year registered nurse experience working with both adult and pediatric patient populations. Triage experience as a registered nurse This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Nursing Degree from an accredited nursing school and/or equivalent work experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in an outpatient Primary Care setting Ability to work competently and efficiently with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Work Pediatric phlebotomy experience Licensure/Certifications Registered Nurse as defined by California Board of Registered Nursing Current CA Nursing license Current American Heart Association CPR Certification.
