Certifications And Licenses Required: BLS certification Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License Scheduling Requirements : Day shift Essential Functions: Responsible for ensuring the appropriate placement of patients throughout the hospital. Ensures that all needs are evaluated for patient placement. Acts as central contact for decisions related to bed management. Tracks and trends barriers to patient flow, makes recommendations and develops action plans to improve processes and systems. Prepares daily bed management analyses to identify opportunities for improvement in admission planning. Communicates with physicians and nurses regarding emergency and direct admissions based on bed availability, treatment plan and admission criteria. Initiates and maintains communication throughout the day with Emergency Department, Operating Room, Cath lab and other specialty areas. Works with Case Management, Nursing, Environmental Services and other departments in order to proactively plan for patient admissions, discharges and transfers for effective patient flow. Ensures that the Logistics Department follows E-Handoff Protocols Evaluates staff performance in accordance with organizational policies. Develops implements and maintains unit budget. Maintains unit administration including scheduling and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
