Provides care that maintains each Guest’s skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears and other damage by changing incontinent Guests, turning, repositioning immobile Guests and by applying moisturizers to fragile skin and other areas. 6. Performs various tasks assigned by the floor nurse including checking vital signs, weighing Guests, applying creams/ointments and collecting specimens. 7. Must be knowledgeable of individual care plans and support the care planning process by providing supervisors with specific information and observations of the Guest’s needs, preferences and report any behavioral changes. 8. Assists the Wound Care Nurse as directed. 9. Completes medical records documenting care provided and other information in accordance with nursing policies while maintaining strict confidentiality. 10. Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously. 11. Assist with new admissions, re-admissions and assist with the transfer of Guests to different rooms within the facility. 12. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors. 13. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed. Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department. They communicate with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 4. Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current. 5. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.6.
