Job Summary and Qualifications The Cardiac Cath Lab RN reports to the Director Diagnostic Imaging, and works under the direct supervision of the department’s Clinical Coordinator. He/she has an in-depth knowledge of cardiovascular disease and associated co-morbidities, and is trained and experienced in: handling emergent and life-threatening situations maintains BLS and ACLS certification and skills maintains IABP certification and skills proper operation of departmental equipment achieving and maintaining sterile technique achieving and maintaining hemostasis following procedures the uses and risks associated with the administration of contrast media. Provides direct care to patients – before, during and after procedures. Completes pre-procedural physical patient assessment.
