Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Position Overview: Staff nurse will be responsible for providing intensive care to patients with serious heart and vascular conditions. This includes recovering hearts from various cardiac procedures. Shifts are three 12-hour shifts one week and four 12-hour shifts the following week (every other weekend included). Pre-Employment Requirements: We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required. Education Requirements: ADN required, BSN preferred. Job Requirements: Current RN License. Previous cardiac experience highly preferred. Unit Overview: We welcome New Grads! The Cardiac Intervention Unit (CIU) will facilitate care to the following patient populations: patients admitted for cardiac catheterization, elective coronary interventional procedures including PTCA, stent, atherectomy, electrophysiology testing and/or ablation, elective electrical cardioversion, permanent cardiac pacemaker or AICD implantation. CIU's nurse to patient ratio is 1:5. Anticipated length of stay for these patients is less than 48 hours. The unit provides expert quality care to patients utilizing an interdisciplinary collaborative approach in an effort to return the patient to their highest level of wellness.
