Responsibilities Assists registered nurse and/or physidans with exams and procedures Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure Administers medications and injections according to orders Maintains patient records performs various routine tests and procedures, including dipstick urinalysis, hematocrits, EKG s, tympanometry, audiometry, inhalation therapy, pregnancy tests, and blood glucose Maintains inventories of clinical supplies and medications Ensures that patient examination rooms are ready for use by patients, and that rooms are stocked with supplies and equipment Completes call backs to parents/guardians of patients by phone calls prescriptions to pharmacies Prepares lab, X-ray request and referral forms Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards Regular and prompt attendance Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required Related duties as assigned Additional Information Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the State of Alabama Required LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure with the State of Alabama Upon Hire Required BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 Days Required Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
