While an interdisciplinary care team provides medical care to patients in long-term care facilities, you will have the opportunity to impact in a positive way the life and wellbeing of the elderly population. We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities. WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities. Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law. Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing. Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition. and/or the care plan. Collaborate with the primary care physician. WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas. Board Certification. DEA licensure (Optional) Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties. Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers. Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc. Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified Experience working in a long-term care setting. Ability to work with an EMR. Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care. How you make a difference As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility is to provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as necessary. Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed. Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. How you make a difference The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides a full range of psychiatric services to incarcerated patients in accordance with state scope of practice, collaborative protocols, and established policies. This role delivers direct psychiatric care while also providing clinical consultation to mental health and healthcare staff. The position works within state guidelines to support consistent, high-quality psychiatric services across the facility. Clinical consultation and supervision are sought as required under applicable collaborative practice requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment, and follow-up care while exercising independent medical judgment. Monitor and manage psychotropic medications, including effectiveness, side effects, and required follow-up. Collaborate with mental health, medical, and administrative teams to ensure consistent psychiatric and mental health services. Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and participate in required meetings, consultations, and on-call coverage. Support crisis intervention, referrals, transfers, and emergency or involuntary treatment processes as allowed by scope of practice. Qualifications & Requirements Education Master in Science of Nursing or Post-Master’s Certificate from an accredited nurse practitioner program with a specialty in psychiatric mental health across the lifespan. Experience Minimum one (1) year of experience as a PMHNP required, or may be waived if approved by Vice President of Advanced Practice Program. Corrections experience in a PMHNP role preferred. Licenses/Certifications Unrestricted current license to practice as a PMHNP in the state of practice. Current board certification as a PMHNP. Current DEA Registration (unless Chief Psychiatric Officer determines it as optional). Current BLS certification.
