Accurately records messages and forwards calls appropriately. Completes follow up calls as needed. Accurately obtains and enters patient information into Medical Record database with little or no error. Collects co-payments. Accurately records and processes payments. Assists patients in scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling appointments. Completes patient appointment reminders. Accurately gathers and records pertinent patient information such as vital signs, medical history, medication information, and essential diagnostic reports. Assures the patient rooms and treatment areas are clean and adequately stocked per infection control practices. Performs point of care testing as ordered by the provider, while adhering to OSHA regulations with an emphasis on patient safety and quality control. Prepares patients for examinations/procedures as directed by the provider including position, draping, hair removal, and disinfection treatment sites. Assist with examinations, invasive procedures, and minor medical procedures that are performed by a license provider. Maintains documentation that is detailed, clearly stated, objective and accurate. Applies simple non-sterile wound care/dressing changes. Collaborates with other healthcare providers as needed to ensure continuity of care. Participates in staff meetings and in-services. Demonstrates the ability to provide clear patient instructions on specific treatment regimens as recommended by a licensed provider. Scribing for a licensed provider. Knowledgeable of front office procedures and willing to assist as required as well referrals, pre-certifications, and prior authorizations. Demonstrates good communication and observation skills. Identifies and reports critical results to licensed provider. Maintains patient confidentiality. Maintains current status in CPR. Utilizes knowledge of patients age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Correctly performs visual acuity testing. Performs other duties as assigned. Overview Southern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital Joint venture between Vibr and Select Medical Position: Wound Care Nurse (Registered Nurse) Location: Bowling Green, KY Schedule: Part Time Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital is committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care to best address the medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. Responsibilities Establishes a leadership role in the wound care program, establishing standards of care across the hospitals and programs in collaboration with Select Medical wound care experts. Develops and deploys evidence-based clinical protocols and algorithms to support the best clinical outcomes for wound management, including development and updating product formulary. Establishes competencies for clinicians regarding wound care. Collaborates with Medical leadership on wound care initiatives, research questions, and outcome measures to support program innovation and excellence. Develops educational modules for wound care to be used for internal and external education, including teaching tools for patients and families. Analyzes patterns of wounds across programs and hospitals, and identifies targeted PI activities to improve wound outcomes and mitigate pressure sore development. Establishes individual programs and courses directed at increasing staff knowledge, competency, and credentials in support of individual job objectives and the overall goals and mission of the organization. Coordinates competency evaluation and testing for professional staff in collaboration with clinical departments. Works in collaboration with Education department to assure coordination of all educational initiatives and activities to support the overall objectives and goals of the department and the organization. Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing and other clinical education programs. Maintains the database to track staff education, competency and credentials and utilizes the database to evaluate and plan for future educational activities and programs. Works under the direction of the Director of Education on nursing education projects and initiatives related to skin, wound and ostomy management. Collaborates with other members of the Education Department on joint educational initiatives. Performs other duties as requested. Total cash compensation includes earnings from per visit point pay and hourly pay and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. This role receives two types of compensation depending on the work being performed. When conducting visits, you will be paid per visit point rate compensation. Your per visit pay will be calculated by multiplying your per visit point rate by the productivity points you accrue for various types of visits. Each type of visit is assigned a certain number of productivity points that is inclusive of 'direct' and 'indirect' patient care activities. Visits are assigned based on patient and business needs. The number of visits performed each week will vary based on individual productivity targets and the productivity points assigned to the visits performed. You will be paid your hourly rate for certain non-visit activities such as orientation. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
