This is a great opportunity for an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a nursing assistant, a patient care tech or even someone interested in becoming a nursing assistant and providing patient care. Those candidates that are not certified or that do not have applicable experience will receive 6 weeks of on-the-job training to learn the position. This training will be full-time. Job Description The Opportunity : We are hiring an APP in our NSICU at the Plaza. We are looking for an APP that is hardworking and has a passion for critical care. This is a full-time night shift position. This position works closely in a collaborative relationship with the Neuro Critical Care physicians. A positive attitude and working well with all members of the multi-disciplinary team is crucial. ICU background is preferred, new grads will be considered. The level of autonomy increases with experience. The physicians expect to be highly engaged in patient care. The expectation is the APP will work towards being independently credentialed to place radial arterial lines. The APPs work closely with the Neurologists, Neurosurgeons and NSICU intensivist team, nursing staff and pharmacy. The Schedule: The schedule is 3 night shifts per week. Hours are from 5:00 pm to 6:00 am. Some shifts are longer depending on how busy the unit is. Expectations are one weekend every three weeks but could require more due to staffing needs. Approximately two Holidays per year are expected. APP will cover the ICU 24 hours per day, 365 days a year. Applicants must be prepared to work undesirable shifts. The unit is 18 beds. Staffing ranges from 1 to 2 APPs on night shifts. Orientation for new graduates is approximately 5 months and they will be enrolled in the Fellowship program. Consults with Charge RN and Medical Director to optimize clinical staffing. • Provides informal feedback to staff on an ongoing basis and formal feedback in the form of the annual performance evaluation during the focal merit review process. The Step-Down RN offer an intermediate level of care between the ICU and the general medical-surgical floor. Step-Down Nurses are responsible for close monitoring, medication administration, patient education, and care coordination.
