JOB DUTIES: Assists and supports unit employees: ER/ICU RNs, Monitor Tech’s and Critical Care Unit Coordinators Performs daily rounds in ER/ICU and leads ongoing “huddles” as necessary to ensure smooth patient flow. Collaborates with Manager/House Supervisor to obtain updated census of other hospital units and discuss plan of potential hospital admissions. Assists in maintaining patient and organizational flow; admission and discharge coordination: Collaborates with the MSP and Surgical Services Charge Nurses to assist with any needs of coordinating patient flow. Ensure the process of reporting patient status to the following shift of nursing personnel. Ensure rounds on patients in the department and waiting room are being managed and that they are kept informed and updated on the patient’s condition and/or situation. Staffs the unit according to organizational guidelines, ensure meal breaks for all staff, and facilitate to reduce overtime. Evaluates the effectiveness of care and addresses issues that may affect the desired patient outcomes. Promotes the delivery of safe effective and appropriate care in a timely and accurate manner. Assists/supports staff with all levels of patient care delivery. Oversee and directs the planning and distribution of patient assignments. Address patient and/or family issues/concern and communicates to the Manager. Understand and utilizes the online variance reporting system. Assesses risk, responds and solves issues that may arise in the ER/ICU and provides a safe working environment for the entire department. Performs and/or delegates the completion of quality review, regulatory observational/chart audits; actively contributes to quality and development including compliance, core measure and documentation. Demonstrates ability to provide immediate professional practice feedback to staff. Interacts with and contributes to the professional growth of peers, colleagues and unit. . Collaborates and supports staffs to ensure the completion of annual unit specific trainings, and organizational required education. Responds and assists all Trauma, STEMI, Stroke activations. Participates in the development and planning of goals and objectives related to Trauma/STEMI/Stroke/Emergency Operation Plan programs and compliance. Collaborates with the ED Nurse Manager, Trauma Program Medical Director, Stroke Medical Director, and Quality data abstractor in the development, implementation and evaluation of a Trauma/STEMI/Stroke/EOP quality care and programs Monitors team’s compliancy according to the Trauma/STEMI/Stroke/EOP regulatory requirements, policies and standards. Participate in state and regional Trauma/STEMI/Stroke/EOP activities. Ensure completion of the daily/monthly checks (i.e Crash carts, accuchecks). Provides quality care to all patients and ensures patient safety throughout the continuum of patient care, advocates for family-centered approach, in accordance with established policies, procedures of the healthcare organization, as well as guidelines of profession organization. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and/or CCRN certification preferred or willing to obtain within 24 months. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required and maintain certification. Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification or attain certification within six months of employment and maintains certification. Contact our recruiter Carmen today: Email: CHoule@MonarchMN.com POSITION SUMMARY The RN manages and supervises resident care ensuring the highest quality of care is received in accordance with the Minnesota BON standards, is guided by the Residents’ Bill of Rights and abides by the facility Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. Through the collection and analysis of data, the RN is accountable for performing a comprehensive assessment to establish the baseline health status of residents as well as to create a detailed Plan of Care that includes individual needs and preferences. RNs oversee practical nurses, CNAs and nursing personnel through assessment of their knowledge, skill and capabilities, clarifying expectations and addressing behaviors to ensure the safety of residents and to attain the ultimate goal of achieving and maintaining the highest practicable physical, mental and psycho-social well-being of each resident. RESPONSIBILITIES Conducts Comprehensive Health Assessments and Care Planning: Gathers data from various sources to assess resident health, creates individualized Plans of Care, and ensures team collaboration in planning and execution. Implements and Monitors Nursing Care: Oversees the delivery of nursing interventions, evaluates outcomes, and continuously updates care plans to enhance resident well-being and quality of life. Ensures Compliance with Standards and Resident Rights: Delivers care aligned with Minnesota Board of Nursing standards, HIPAA, and the Residents’ Bill of Rights, promoting dignity, privacy, and equality in treatment. Provides Direct and Specialized Nursing Care: Performs RN-specific tasks such as IV administration, PICC line care, and resident education, while recognizing and addressing scope-of-practice limitations. Maintains Safety, Documentation, and Infection Control: Ensures a clean and safe environment, follows safety protocols, accurately documents care and medications, and upholds HIPAA and infection control standards. Supervises and Manages Nursing Staff: Leads, delegates, and supports nursing staff; ensures proper staffing levels, provides shift reports, manages incidents, and participates in emergency and disaster procedures. Nursing Assistant in Training (NAIT) Position Summary: The Nursing Assistant in Training (NAIT) is a position that exists to prepare NAITs to successfully pass the Minnesota State Nursing Assistant competency exams. NAITs must be actively enrolled in an approved Minnesota MDH 75-hour NATCEP program at the time of hire. Upon completion of the course, the NAIT will take and pass the Minnesota State Nursing Assistant competency exams within 4 months of hire at which time the NAIT will apply internally for the open CNA position at the facility of their choosing. The student is allowed 3 attempts for the Skills exam and 4 attempts for the Knowledge exam. If either exam attempts are exhausted, a new training program must be completed. As an NAIT, you will be responsible for most duties of a certified nursing aide (CNA) as officially deemed competent through in part, completion of at least 16 hours of training in core areas.
