Position Summary: M - F 7:30 am - 7pm, Flexible schedule 4 x10 hour shifts or 5 x 8 hour shifts. Assists providers in the administration of patient care in assigned clinical areas. Assists with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatment, and dressing changes. Performs general administrative duties in accordance with JCAHO, CLIA, NCQA and government standards, as well as company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Performs visit chart preparation activities based on the daily scheduled appointments including diagnostic test results, emergency/urgent care reports, discharge summaries and consult/PCP reports are located in the medical record and accessible to the provider. Performs rooming activities for provider visits according to the documented rooming criteria including chief complaint, allergies, vital signs, medication list review, tobacco history, LMP, health maintenance overrides and documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Obtains and documents age and/or condition-specific measurements accurately including vital signs, height, weight, head circumference, peak flow, and pulse oximetry. Conducts and documents hearing, vision, respiratory and ECG testing. Performs and documents specific screening based on condition/need including depression and asthma. Obtains, documents and processes specimens using the appropriate collection process and equipment. Performs and documents point of care testing accurately. Performs venipuncture procedures (as needed) and processes specimens as outlined in policies and procedures. Administers medications and immunizations including oral, nasal, injectable, rectal and topical routes as appropriate. Processes medication prescription refills per guidelines using telephonic, electronic or print methods. Handles prior authorization processes for medications and/or procedures and documents appropriately. Manages clinical supplies and medication sample areas to ensure that stock is current, stored appropriately, labeled and par levels maintained. Education/Experience/Licensure MA I Education: HS Diploma or GED required and One of the following: Graduate from an accredited MA Program. Graduate from an MA Training Program with externship. 1 year of relevant healthcare experience with formal training (LNA, EMT, Combat Medic). 1 year prior experience as a Medical Assistant. Experience: 1 year of relevant healthcare exp. (can include externship), 1 -2 years exp. in a clinical ambulatory care setting preferred. Certification/Licensure: Must possess BLS authorization upon 90 days of employment and maintain during employment. CMA, RMA or CCMA preferred. MA II Education: HS Diploma or GED required and One of the following: Graduate from an accredited MA Program. Graduate from an MA Training Program with externship. Care is also provided to inpatients requiring major or endoscopic procedures and to patients entering the hospital as a same day admission. The staff nurse utilizes AORN Ambulatory Surgery Standards and Recommended Practices and ASPAN “Standards of Perianesthesia Nursing Practice” as references to ensure quality, safety and appropriateness of care for the patient. Skill in assessing problems, planning and evaluating solutions in relationship to routine supervision of LPNs and nursing assistant and resident needs. Understanding, patience and tact in dealing with people. Must be tactful and possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal, English). : LNA/RA: Full-Time: (3pm-11pm Shift) LNA/RA are an essential part of our wellness team by providing basic personal assistance to the residents in maintaining their highest level of functional independence and psychosocial wellness. LNA/RA Duties/Responsibilities: Providing companionship, building rapport and establishing a trusting relationship with our residents Assisting residents in activities of daily living, to include ambulation, transferring, showering, personal hygiene, incontinence care, feeding, reminders, supervision. Gathering and assisting residents in activities, conducting activities in groups or one-on-one with residents as requested. Conducting daily tasks in a safe manner and for adhering to all safety procedures. Serves residents meals and after-meal cleanup. Assures that resident rooms are clean and tidy throughout each day. Is responsible for resident laundry, as assigned. Observes residents and reporting any concerns, e.g., skin breakdown, rash, behavioral changes, speech change, change in appearance, etc., to Wellness Director. Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection, infection control, blood borne pathogens, hazardous waste, and quality assurance procedure. Communicate with family members, visitors, and volunteers in a customer service-oriented manner. Report all changes in the resident’s psychosocial and physical condition, and in skin breakdown to the Wellness Director. Report all complaints, grievances, and instances of abuse to the Wellness Director and/or the Executive Director. Answer all emergency response system calls immediately. Provide post-mortem care as instructed. Complete all documentation and paperwork as required. Participate in Wellness meetings and mandatory trainings to ensure compliance with all regulations and policies. Ensure compliance to American House’s Mission and philosophy as well as all written policies and procedures that govern the Wellness Department. Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with policies and procedures and as instructed by the Wellness Director, as well as other members of the leadership team. LNA/RA Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both residents and staff. Ability to lift, pull, push, carry 40 pounds and to move about the community quickly in order to provide emergency assistance to residents.
