In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. What you will be doing Job Description Medical Assistant 3X A MONTH AT LEAST 8 AM - 4:15 PM Scope of Duties: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (Registration, Radiology, Physician Practice Management, Physical Therapy) Escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing them for examinations, reviewing patient statuses and assisting in obtaining patient data. Obtain PCR nasal swabs for pre-surgical patients Support the Pre-Surgical Screening program by assisting nurses and obtaining vital signs, lab specimens (venipuncture) and EKG’s. Preparing specimens for the lab and ensuring hand-off to courier Foster efficient patient throughput, deliver excellent customer service, and establish and maintain an organized professional environment. Assist the physician in treatments and procedures and ensure physician orders are completed in a timely manner. Demonstrate proficiency in cast removal, suture and staple removal, and application of off the shelf braces. Maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers. Participate in our supportive and team-oriented environment. Within our 21-bed unit, we treat a wide range of genetic, neurological, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and orthopedic conditions, with each child receiving an individualized plan built around both medical and rehabilitation goals. We are proud of our deeply collaborative, interdisciplinary model uniting nursing, medical, respiratory, rehab, and recreation all working toward one shared purpose: helping every child live their healthiest, happiest life. About the Role We are hiring a full-time Inpatient Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for our night team. In this role, you'll provide direct, comprehensive care to medically complex children in our subacute unit, serving as a lead clinical presence overnight and working alongside a tight-knit interdisciplinary team. You'll own the full continuum of care for your patients and play a central role in helping them reach their medical and rehabilitation goals. This is a long-term, career pediatric position. Continuously evaluates behavior, symptoms, reactions and progress of residents and discusses findings with Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse. Administers and documents all medications according to established policies and procedures, physician's orders and Department of Health regulations. Performs all treatments according to physician's specific order and established policies and procedures. Discusses the need to discontinue or change a medication of treatment with the Nurse Manager/ Charge Nurse. Orders prescribed medications, notifies pharmacy of discontinued medications: and ensures accuracy of medications and dosages when received from pharmacy.
