Registered Nurse Telemetry

Overview Shift Available: Nights Employment Type: Part-Time Hours: 7:00pm-7:00am (12-hour shifts) Location: St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO We are seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), sometimes referred to as a Telemetry RN or Tele RN. A Tele RN specializing in attending to patients within our telemetry units, including those needing cardiac monitoring. The Tele RN will monitor and interpret our patient's vital signs, such as heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level. Continuous monitoring of patients, by the Telemetry RN enables gathering real-time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient's condition. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Recognizes signs of abuse and reports appropriately to the hospital social worker and/or Adult / Child Protective Services. Familiar with the EMTALA Regulations. Responsible for the observation and direction of patient lifts, mobilization, and shall participate as needed in patient handling. Attends and maintains mandatory training in safe patient handling, trained in safe lifting techniques, includes but not limited to 1) Appropriate use of lifting devices and equipment, 2) Five areas of body exposure: vertical, lateral, bariatric repositioning and ambulation, 3) Use of lifting devices to handle patients safely. Uses professional judgment and clinical assessment in safe patient handling that are consistent with Safe Patient Handling policies. Uses two patient identifiers consistently when drawing lab, administering medications and performing procedures. Follows medication reconciliation policy consistently. Does not use unacceptable abbreviations in documentation (uses read back on all telephone orders.) Monitors authentication and validation of telephone orders within 24 hours by the physician. Ensures consistently that all clinical alarms, i.e. cardiac monitors are set with the appropriate parameters for the patient and are audible at all times. Qualifications Education and Work Experience Current and valid state RN License. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred. Ventilator Management experience preferred. Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Overview Employment Type: Part Time Shifts Available: Days Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00am to 7:00pm Location: St. Mary's Medical Center - Blue Springs, MO We are seeking a Physical Rehabilitation Nurse, sometimes referred to as an Inpatient Rehab Nurse or Physical Rehab RN. A Physical Rehabilitation Nurse in our hospital will specialize in caring for patients recovering from acute or chronic illnesses, injuries, or surgeries that require rehabilitation services. These nurses help patients regain independence, improve their physical and functional abilities, and adapt to new health circumstances. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Provide direct care to patients recovering from medical conditions such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, orthopedic surgeries, amputations, chronic diseases or other conditions Monitor patients’ medical status, vital signs, responses to rehabilitation therapies; along with administration of medications, manage IVs, and provide wound care as needed Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and eating, in coordination with physical therapists and occupational therapists Teach patients to use assistive devices, such as walkers, prosthetics, or wheelchairs Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, and long-term care strategies Participate in discharge planning, ensuring that patients are prepared for a safe transition to home or another care setting Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1.
