Summary The Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children's Cancer and Hematology Clinic located in McAllen, TX is recruiting a full-time Instructor- Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA). The clinic was created in 2001 through a joint effort of the Vannie Cook Foundation, Baylor College of Medicine, and Texas Children's Hospital to provide local pediatric Hematology /Oncology care to the under-served children of the Rio Grande Valley. The clinic is an extension of the Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center and is the region's first and only pediatric cancer and hematology treatment facility. Providing outpatient and inpatient care for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology patients at the Vannie Cook Clinic and several surrounding community hospitals. The unit consists of 32 general admission beds and 4 designated trauma beds. 11WT receives a wide array of surgical patients from a variety of surgical services. The Clinical Nurse in the Acute Care Cancer Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
