The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a 50% Medical Assistant II to work in our Bettendorf Psychiatry Clinic. The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 50% Medical Assistant to work within our Psychiatry Clinic located in Bettendorf, IA . We use a patient-centered care approach—a partnership between you and your team of providers, nurses and therapists—to develop a therapeutic treatment plan that meets your needs . This position will mainly support Psychiatry but could also support other service lines/clinics based on clinical needs/hours. This position also includes FREE on-site parking! Duties To Include Staff will support our Psychiatry Clinic and will float to other clinical areas based on staffing need. Under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse. Duties may involve the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment. Responsible for facilitating the smooth flow of patients through the clinic through interaction with patients, families, and staff. Assist in clinic with patient care. Record and access patient history, medication records, screenings, and allergies. Obtain and/or record vital signs. May administer medications not requiring a high level of skill or nursing judgment. These are medications that can only be administered by certified medical assistants or medical assistants who have completed a formal accredited training program. Other duties as assigned. Licensure/Certification Requirements License to practice nursing in the state of Iowa required by date of hire.
