Job Overview The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) provides expert Family-Centered Care across the wellness-illness continuum, providing primary, acute, chronic and critical care to infants and toddlers up to age 2 years. In collaboration with other health care providers the NNP will provide initial, ongoing and comprehensive care, including taking complete histories; providing physical examinations and diagnosing, treating and managing patients with acute and chronic illnesses and diseases. This includes ordering, performing, supervising, and interpreting laboratory and imaging studies; prescribing medication and durable medical equipment; and making appropriate referrals for patients and families. In addition, NNP care also includes health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and counseling. Department Name: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) Job Status: full time, 40 hours per week, eligible for benefits Shift: rotating days/nights. Weekend and holiday coverage required in accordance with department operations and clinical need. This position is a mix of clinical and administrative time, with a minimum of 40% of time spent at the bedside or serving in the charge or resource role. This position is eligible for relocation assistance, if relocating from 100 miles or greater. Duties & Responsibilities An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. Provides clinical leadership and management, oversees operations, and directs staffing support to ensure high-quality patient care, including serving in charge or other clinical roles, demonstrating clinical expertise, and reinforcing professional standards and competencies. Maintains leader visibility through rounding with patients, families, and team members to assess care delivery, ensure timely resolution of identified issues, promote positive experiences, and recognize best practices. Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and guidelines, in alignment with evidence-based practice, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards. Ensures safe, efficient patient flow and resource utilization. Creates and manages staffing and scheduling resources to meet patient, operational, and departmental needs, adjusting resources as conditions change. Supports interviewing and hiring decisions, and oversees onboarding and training activities, providing input and recommendations in collaboration with departmental leadership. Develops, coaches, mentors, and directly supervises team members, including directing their work, supporting performance expectations and professional growth, handling employee complaints and grievances, conducting performance reviews, corrective action and discipline, and recommending termination decisions, where needed. Supports continuous improvement initiatives that enhance clinical practice, operations, and patient outcomes. Monitors departmental resources and expenditures and assists with meeting targets for productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction. Provides direct clinical care and support, visible leadership presence, and active supervision of team members. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION – Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Master’s degree in Nursing or a directly related health care field is preferred. EXPERIENCE – Three years of clinical experience. Pediatric cardiac intensive care experience strongly preferred. LICENSURE – Registered Nurse (RN) CERTIFICATION(S) – BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire. ANCC recognized certification in clinical specialty. Depending on the unit/department, employees may also be required to have a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Adult Advanced Life Support (ACLS), and/or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC). Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $108,198.40 to $162,297.60 Benefits Information Here, you matter.
