Lorain FHSC’s Urgent Care offers care for a wide range of minor illness and injuries, including minor burns and cuts; colds, coughs, sore throats and the flu; sprains, strains and fractures; and stings and bites. A caregiver in this role will work a combination of 12-hour and 8-hour shifts, including two shifts from 8:00am to 8:00pm and two shifts from either 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm each week. This role includes an every-other-weekend rotation, with the department providing coverage seven days per week. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician. Collect and document objective and subjective data and observations about patients. Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments. Provide minor maintenance and restocking of equipment. Participate in quality initiative and process and the departmental orientation of new employees. Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times. Educate patients and family members. Approximately 10% of all dialysis patients reside in a SNF and are transported to dialysis three times a week placing a significant burden on patients and adding significant avoidable costs to the health care system. DSD Services teammates will have access to all the capabilities and resources DaVita has to offer, and will work to quickly leverage these to develop the infrastructure and rapidly grow the new service line. What you can expect: In this role, you take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their dialysis treatment stays on track. Direct Patient Care: The RN’s primary responsibility is to independently demonstrate best practice techniques and deliver optimal dialysis care. The role includes supervising Dialysis Technician who are tasked with delivering tandem care to meet the capacity and efficiency goals of the program. Complexity - DSD Dialysis care is a complex but fulfilling service line. Meeting and/or exceeding clinical outcomes are the goals and multitasking is an expectation to meet the needs of the service, the patients and our SNF partners. Autonomy and Critical Thinking.
