Summary The Medical Assistant (MA)-Float Pool position is a float position that the MA will be assigned to various BCM clinics/locations. The MA should be proficient in taking vital signs, giving medications by various forms in their scope of practice, EMR, phone etiquette, flexible, and a fast learner. This position requires someone who is flexible, eager to learn, excellent communication skills, great customer service skills, great work ethics and a passion for helping others. Proficient in EMR systems preferably (EPIC). Comfortable with standing and moving around for long periods of time. Job Duties Performs routine patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, venipuncture (blood draws), collect specimens, EKGs/ECGs, and laboratory Point of Care Testing. Performs clerical/administrative responsibilities such as filing and/or scanning patient medical records, obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information. Takes inventory of clinic supplies and order supplies as needed. Sorts and distributes clinic mail and medical records to the appropriate clinic personnel. Flexible, dependable, hardworking, be adaptable, and willing to work in a float pool position. Other job-related duties as assigned. Job Summary Monday - Friday 10am - 6:30pm, Weekday On-call with rotating weekends required. Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving over 50 pounds without assistance and assisting with mobility. Special skills and previous experience with Hoyer Lifts, Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care are strongly encouraged. Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation. Pass a background check and other relevant checks. Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate must be obtained within 14 days of employment start date.
