Key Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care and clinical oversight for individuals with developmental disabilities in accordance with OPWDD guidelines. Administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor for side effects, and maintain accurate medical records. Conduct health assessments and respond to medical emergencies as needed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including DSPs, medical providers, therapists, and family members. Develop and update individualized nursing care plans and contribute to person-centered service planning (ISP). Educate staff on health-related issues, proper medication administration, infection control, and other medical protocols. Administers medications when appropriate, and supervises AMAP certified staff in medication administration. Supervises all medication prescribed for individuals in accordance with agency policies. Provides supervision and training for Licensed Practical Nurses and/or less experienced. Provides immediate first aid with referral to outside emergency services or private physician. Description The (Per Diem) Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Responsibilities Patient Care Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based upon theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs and applies critical thinking skills in patient care management. Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
