Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Administers medication and treatments as assigned within the scope of practice. Passes morning, afternoon and evening bedtime and overnight medications scheduled and as needed, staying with each resident until the medication is consumed, then charts appropriately. Summary Cellular Therapy Nurse Coordinator I (CTNC I) is an Oncology Nursing patient therapy coordination position for an experienced registered nurse who will serve as primary nurse in the outpatient setting for a designated population of patients in the Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy Program (BMTCI). These are cancer patients, sickle cell patients, or other patients that require bone marrow transplant or another cellular immunotherapy. The BMTCI Program is rapidly growing and changing, flexibility and emotional intelligence is required.Typical diseases seen within this clinic include lymphoma, leukemia, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome, sickle cell disease, aplastic anemia. Patients may be in the period from initial consult through long term follow up and even transition into survivorship care. Under the mentorship of an assigned Cellular Therapy Nurse Coordinator II hereafter CTNC II, The CTNC I progressively increase performance to act independently in the utilization of excellent organization, multitasking, communication, and critical thinking skills to work within an assigned patient care team to coordinate the patient experience. This coordination includes the scheduling, accuracy, and follow up on all work up orders and procedures and follow up on all ancillary teams. The nurse will assist with patient and caregiver education, communicating with all stakeholders verbally, written and electronically. Working in clinic and performing ongoing assessments, nursing interventions, maintaining documentation and fee charges in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory guidelines and performing patient education.
