About the Role The Certified Surgical Technologists is an allied health professional, who is an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients. The Certified Surgical Technologists work under the supervision of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Promotes and maintain optimal client care under the supervision of an RN. Maintains a safe patient environment. Identifies and communicates significant abnormalities in patients data to case manager and other appropriate home health team members. Administers prescribed medications and treatments as permitted by law. Assesses all medicines a client may be taking to identify possible ineffective drug therapy or adverse reactions, significant side effects, drug allergies, contraindicated medications and reports any problems to the physician. Re-evaluates client’s nursing needs and reports findings to Case Manager. Counsels and instructs the client and family in meeting nursing and related needs. Prepares clinical and progress notes. Submits all documentation in a timely manner in accordance with agency policy. Documentation on patients chart correlates with nursing care plan. Communicates frequently and works closely with other home care team members.
