Assure that established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing nursing procedures. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Assure that equipment is cleaned and prepared for the next shift. Assure that work schedules are followed. Maintain the confidentiality of resident information and honor his/her personal and property rights. Attend nursing department, Care Plan, and other meetings as directed by the DON or ADON. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Works with the Facility Manager, facility staff and physician to coordinate the facility operations and patient procedures to ensure provision of quality patient care on a daily basis in accordance with organization policies, procedures and training. Provides nursing support to patients and staff. Assist with staffing, staff training, equipment, physician and patient relations, cost containment, supply management, medical records, patient billing, OSHA and all company, state and federal compliance. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for supporting and driving Organization quality standards through meeting regulatory requirements and the practice of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), including use of Organization CQI tools. Accountable for outstanding quality of patient care, as defined by the organization quality goals, by working with the Vice President of Quality and other organization management to ensure that organization/ASC policies and procedures are followed. Record new/changed diet orders. Forward information to the Dietary Department. Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with our established Charting and Documentation Policies and Procedures. Responsible for completion of admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Prepare and administer medications and treatments if appropriate as ordered by the physician. Review medication record for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order, and adherence to stop order policies.
