This position is designed to enhance operational efficiency, patient safety, and experience through both real-time clinical leadership and administrative support to the perinatal leadership team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Clinical Operations: Dynamic Resource Allocation: Real-time deployment of nursing staff across 134 beds (66 OB + 68 NICU) based on fluctuating census and acuity, ensuring appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios for both stable and critical patients. Clinical Crisis Response: Immediate response to obstetric and neonatal emergencies, neonatal resuscitations, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Bi-Campus Coordination: Facilitate patient transfers, float staff between campuses, and ensure equitable resource distribution across both facilities. Patient Flow Management: Oversee admissions, transfers, and discharges to optimize bed utilization while maintaining quality and safety standards. Physician Partnership: Serve as primary nursing liaison for on-call physicians, addressing concerns, facilitating communication, and ensuring seamless care delivery. Staff Support & Retention: Provide real-time mentoring, conflict resolution, and support to approximately 80 staff members per shift working in high-stress, high-acuity environments.
