This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. Under the direction of an Attending Physician or a licensed independent practitioner, the Special Procedures Nurse RN provides technically complex and high risk nursing care services to patients which may include one or more of the following categories: sedation, intravenous infusions, complex procedures, e.g., lumbar puncture, cardiac catherization; This may also include specialized monitoring during procedure and recovery phase; The RN may have Charge Nurse responsibility for his/her assigned unit. Maintains nursing equipment and work areas in proper working condition; reports malfunctioning equipment or housekeeping issues to the appropriate person. Maintains a neat and clean work area with equipment. Maintains adequate inventory control of all necessary supplies. Emergency equipment maintained with adequate availability, good working order and restocks as needed with a fiscal awareness and accountability. Interfaces with customers, specifically patients, families, visitors, and UCMC staff in a professional, positive and accommodating manner; demonstrates knowledge of AIDET principles and employs in all situations; demonstrates flexibility in accommodating special needs of customers whenever possible.
