Job Description We are searching for Staff Nurses for our Pavilion for Women NICU Team! We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position you’ll provide quality nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age appropriate care in a manner that incorporates family-centered principles and cost-effective care. About Our Pfw Nicu The purpose of the Newborn Center at Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) is to provide the full spectrum of comprehensive care tending to the clinical and psychosocial needs of all neonates and their families. Texas Children’s Hospital NICU holds the distinct honor of being the first recognized Level IV NICU in The State of Texas and was recognized in 2024 as the #3 NICU in the country by US News. PFW NICU offers the highest possible level of specialized treatments as well as expert specialists for babies born prematurely and with unique health challenges. It is located on the 7th & 8th floor of the Pavilion for Women Tower and is a private room unit with a transition area. The private bed unit fosters teamwork and collaboration amongst the nurses. Babies admitted to this unit are born in the Pavilion for Women Labor and Delivery unit or may have transferred in from other facilities. A team of NICU-specialized nurses, providers, respiratory therapists, social workers, child life specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, music therapists, care coordinators, and pharmacists come together to care for our patients and families. TCH PFW NICU RN’s will be responsible for caring for critically ill neonates and infants requiring complex care and the highest level of support. Our teams provide complex medical and surgical care to patients born at 22 weeks or greater with multiple diagnoses, including but not limited to respiratory distress requiring Bubble CPAP, NIPPV, High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation, and Jet Ventilation. The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The Sarcoma and Orthopaedic Center specializes in treating rare and complex cancers and tumors of the bones and soft tissues, including muscle, joints, and blood vessels. At Houston Methodist, the Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) position is responsible for functioning as an expert and demonstrates highly competent knowledge in the more technical and advances examinations and treatments necessary to communicate appropriately and carry out delegated medical assistant level tasks under the direct supervision of a Physician and/or Registered Nurse for assigned patient populations, for providing high quality support of patient care and services. Job Description We are searching for a Registered Nurse for our 15WT Med/Surg Unit – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. 15 WT is a 36-bed med/surge unit; which provides care for pediatric patients under PHM (Pediatric Hospital Medicine). Patients under the care of PHM are typically healthy patients that require hospitalization usually due to an acute event, i.e. status asthmaticus, cellulitis, bronchiolitis. Patient age ranges from a few days old to teenagers and young adults. Developmental ages vary by patient. Complex care patients (multiple comorbidities) and behavioral health patients are other patient populations that are under the PHM service. Our patient length-of-stay is around 2.5 days. The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. Key Responsibilities Patient Care: The Neurosurgery APP impacts quality of patient care and patient outcomes throughout the care continuum and are responsible for the clinical management and coordination of care for complex Neurosurgery outpatients. The APP is responsible for conducting comprehensive history and physicals, developing plans of care, writing orders, coordination and scheduling of surgical procedures, securing consents, prescribing medications, patient education, and requesting consultations from multidisciplinary team members to meet patients' multiple needs and requests. The APP is responsible for the timely and efficient detection, documentation, and management of significant changes in the Neurosurgical patient's condition and can meet and verbalize the needs of patients in their demands and experiences of an illness. Procedures: The APP assists neurosurgeons with procedures such as Gamma Knife stereotactic head frame placement and suture removal. The APP evaluates and reprograms ventriculoperitoneal and lumboperitoneal shunts. APP Managed Clinics and Programs: The Neurosurgery APP manages clinics such as ventriculoperitoneal shunt check clinic and Neurosurgery survivorship clinics. The APP assesses tumor survivors for late and long-term effects of treatment to include surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, hormonal treatments, immunotherapy, and new targeted therapies. The APP participates in health screening, counseling, promotion, and provides referrals to programs for smoking cessation, weight management, physical activity, sexual rehabilitation, and other lifestyle habits. The APP works closely with the Brain and Spine New Patient Access team, faculty, and interdisciplinary team to provide high level comprehensive patient triage to facilitate medical acceptance and entry of new patients and consultations into Neurosurgery clinics, and to develop, coordinate, and maintain patient care plans. The Neurosurgery APP performs post-operative telephone evaluations within 72 hours of the patient's discharge from the hospital facilitating early detection and timely management of changes in the patient's condition, reinforcing post-operative education, and coordinating multidisciplinary post-operative follow up appointments. Other duties as assigned: The Neurosurgery APP participates in the consenting of Neurosurgery protocol patients, develops standard operating procedures relevant to their practice, and actively participates in institutional initiatives that supports research and quality improvement goals. Participates in professional activities (research, presentations, publications, etc.) and performs other duties, as required.
